Privacy & security

This page explains, in plain language, how we protect information and manage access to it.

01

Privacy & Security at QuitSmokingIL

This page explains in plain language how information connected to using the site may be used to operate your account, show your journey, and improve your experience. It is a general explanation, not legal advice.

  • Information is kept in our protected systems and databases and linked to your account.
  • The service shows you the personal data you saved so you can continue your journey.
  • This explanation may be updated when the service or its features change.
02

Information that may appear in your account

Depending on what you choose to enter, your account may include contact details, personal details, quit journeys, preferences, check-ins, slip reports, reminders, and review content.

  • Some details can be updated through Account & Settings.
  • A profile photo is optional.
  • A review remains private unless you give explicit consent to public display.
03

Access to information

Information is intended for your account. Operational access may be given to authorized people only when needed to run the service, provide support, maintain security, or handle an issue, in line with the access policy.

  • We do not show account details or personal reports publicly.
  • Public display of a review depends on your choice and consent.
  • Administrative access is not intended for unrelated personal or commercial use.
04

Your control over the account

Through Account & Settings, you can update certain details, change a password or email address, manage journeys, change preferences, and request account deletion.

  • The service may request extra verification before a sensitive change.
  • Account deletion is permanent and therefore needs confirmation.
  • QuitSmokingIL has no active paid membership or payment requirement before account deletion.
  • If a restricted account is deleted, its personal account data is deleted. Only a minimal protected security record — an email fingerprint, deletion time, and restriction summary — is retained to prevent a new account with that address until an administrator approves it.
05

Simple steps to protect your account

You can also help keep your account safer through a few simple habits.

  • Use a unique password and do not share it.
  • Do not forward a verification code or password-reset link to anyone else.
  • Sign out after using a shared device.
  • If you suspect unusual activity, change your password and review account details.
06

Reviews and public content

Publishing a review is your choice. Before sending, you can choose whether to allow it to appear on the site, and the interface explains which details may be shown next to it.

  • Without display consent, the review is saved privately.
  • Before confirming, review what you wrote and the details that will be shown.
  • Do not include information in a review that you do not want to appear publicly.
07

Support and ads

Every tool on the site is free. You may voluntarily support maintenance and continued development; a contribution is not a purchase, membership, or special benefit.

  • The site does not ask you to send payment details in a message.
  • Ads are not active now; if approved in the future, they will appear only on public pages, not sensitive personal screens.
  • Supporting the project is optional and does not change access to tools.
08

Questions or concerns

If you have a question about privacy, security, or your account, start with this page and Account Settings. You can also use the support channel shown on the site.

  • Do not send a password, verification code, or payment details in a message.
  • When reporting an issue, it helps to note which screen you saw and which device you used.
  • The information on this page is a general explanation only, not legal or medical advice.
09

Temporary guest presence

To show the administrator a live visitor count, we use a random temporary key that exists only for the browser session. It is not connected to a name, account, contact detail, visited screen, device, or IP address.

  • The management screen receives only an aggregate guest count — not names, identifiers, or a visitor list.
  • The key is removed when the browser session ends, and the temporary presence record is removed from our systems shortly afterwards.
  • After signing in, presence is counted only as part of the account to avoid double counting.
10

Providers, tracking, and privacy rights

Information is used to operate the account and tools you choose, not for personalised advertising. At this update, the site does not enable third-party analytics or advertising by default.

  • Supabase provides authentication, database, file storage, and server functions; Vercel hosts and serves the site and may process short technical logs for security and operations.
  • If you choose to support the project, PayPal processes the contribution in its secure window; QuitSmokingIL does not store card numbers. The email provider sends account and support messages. AI chat processes messages only after explicit consent in the chat screen.
  • Google and advertising partners do not receive journey, lapse, or chat data. Advertising may load only after the relevant approval and required consent, and only on public pages.
  • You can ask to access, correct, or delete data through the account or quitsmokingil.support@gmail.com. Israel's Privacy Protection Law is relevant to an Israeli project; GDPR may apply when the service is offered to people in the EU; CCPA/CPRA may apply only if California business-application thresholds are met.
